Per aspera

Today’s Yesterday was Earth Day. It shouldn’t be called that, of course, since it’s not the Earth that’s in trouble. We can do our worst, and in a million years, the Earth will still happily be incubating a cornucopia of species. Earth Day is actually more like Resist Collective Human Suicide Day.
So, in the spirit of thinking globally and acting locally, let’s do our part not to be complicit in the poisoning of ourselves and the ecosystem upon which we depend in, for instance, our various quests to get off. Here’s an article via Feministe about sex toys, the compositions of which are apparently largely unregulated. Thus, on top of the pollution caused by their manufacture, the toys themselves can contain toxins that you don’t want anywhere near your mucous membranes.
